This platform is provided as-is, for personal and entertainment use only. You may not use it to generate content that is illegal, harassing, or intended to harm others. We reserve the right to limit or block access at any time.
Ideas you submit are processed by the OpenAI API and stored on our server as session records. Do not submit sensitive, confidential, or personally identifying information.
By submitting an idea you grant Roast My Idea a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and analyse that content for the purposes of: running the AI debate, generating automated scores and category tags, producing anonymised aggregate trend reports, and improving the platform. This licence does not affect your ownership of the idea itself. We do not claim intellectual property rights over content you submit.
Aggregated and anonymised data (e.g. "38% of ideas this week were about AI") may be published publicly on this platform or used in external reports. No individual idea will be attributed to you personally in any external publication without your explicit consent.
We make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy, or the quality of the roasting. Complaints about Chad's enthusiasm will not be entertained.
What we collect:
- The text of ideas you submit, stored as session records on our server.
- Your IP address, stored temporarily for rate limiting (resets daily, not linked to personal identity).
- Anonymous usage statistics via self-hosted Umami Analytics (no cookies, no fingerprinting, no personal data).
What we don't collect:
We do not collect names, email addresses, or any account information. No third-party advertising or tracking scripts are used.
Data retention:
Session records (your submitted idea + the debate transcript) are stored indefinitely for the purposes described in our Terms of Service, including the Hall of Fame feature, AI scoring, and trend analytics. Published sessions are public. Unpublished sessions are stored but not displayed publicly. To request deletion of your session data, contact us via the link above. Deletion requests are honoured within 30 days.
Third parties:
Debate content is processed by the OpenAI API. Please refer to OpenAI's privacy policy for details on how they handle API data. Analytics are self-hosted and no data is shared with third parties.
Business transfer:
In the event of a sale, merger, or transfer of this platform, stored session data may be transferred to the new operator as part of the business assets. Any such transfer will be subject to the same privacy terms described here. We will notify users via a notice on this page if ownership changes.
EU / GDPR:
This service is operated from Austria and complies with applicable EU regulations including GDPR and the EU AI Act (Art. 52 transparency requirement). AI-generated content is clearly labeled throughout the platform. Our legal basis for processing submitted content is legitimate interest (running the service, improving the platform, and producing anonymised analytics).
